I am trying to step away from pen, its restraints and the predictably lines i make with it. So its out with the pen. Im thinking about the shapes of things more than the shapes withing things that i normally focus my work on. I've been looking at Sonia Delauney and think her shapes and colour are a good place to start. I like the way she still has hints of lines and details along side bold shapes. I think this could be a good way to create abstaction to my work and pursuing the idea of hidden narrative, approach this at another angle, where youhave to read the shapes and thier order as appoased to the obvious images I tend to make.I think this may make the hidden aspect of my work stronger.
